It depends. The term "ecumenical" is somehow vague. Literally, It just means "worldwide, general."
But it can refer to inter-religious dialogue, like advocated by John Hick, Hans Kung, etc.. It can also refer to the effort to help the different sects, denominations inside Christianity to reunite, or, at least to cooperate.
