I think fear is a kind of defense mechanisms of the human body. We deem that something is dangerous, so we fear in order to warn ourselves against the dangerous thing.

人為甚麼會害怕 this is a result of inborn sense and attitude after born which varies in every kind of creatures. If we look at it positively , it can lead you to a road of success or every failure if pessmistive. So we have to strive to learn to make the best use of this sense in our life.
